Accolades for On the Lam
From the same filth-encrusted alleyway inhabited by such wayward Southern denizens as Buzzoven and Eyehategod comes Cavity, an outfit whose long and sordid career has included releases on such varied imprints as Man's Ruin, Bacteria Sour, and Rhetoric. Their latest dirge-ridden epic is a tantamount to a day-old boilermaker left out to stew in the stifiling humidity of a Floridian noon. With one filthy eyeball spinning off toward the sun and one fixed squarely on your Adam's apple, Cavity have let loose a beast that respects no earthbound law but one: Survival of the Fittest. Kill or be Killed.
This kicks ass!!! If you like eyehategod get this now. Probably their best one. Lots of feedback, lots of sludge, lots of rock'n'roll, good tempo changes, excellent drumming. Parts of it remind me a little of The Melvins and Alabama Thunderpussy. It's good to hear an excellent new sludge record.
