Accolades for The Wreck of the Minot
If you liked Go to Hell, youre going to shit your pants over The Wreck of the Minot, the second release from Bostons Were All Gonna Die. Good bands get better with age, and this three-piece has improved dramatically. A hard rock/metal take on the Helmet formula with booming Danzig/Cult-style vocals is still the cornerstone of Were All Gonna Dies sound, but the start-stop rhythms have more room to breathe and more of a groove. The Wreck of the Minot busts out a slew of hard-hitting riffs, making it much more well rounded. Each song has something unique going for it. For instance, Paper Asshole has a sick Corrosion of Conformity feel, I Am the Messiah finds the band flirting with thrash, and Secret Pictures from Hell is a fucking jackhammer of a song.
Stoner thrash groove with enough heavy hard rock influences and anchors to keep the tunes tightly bound by verse chorus verse songwriting and an unwavering determination to level the earth with a harnessed power and fury unleashed like one mighty roar from the mouth of hell itself.
