Rob: You guys seem to have some thick southern influences...start off by giving us a little background history on the band.
Joe: Well, we are from the south. Atlanta, GA to be exact. I and the drummer who played on this record met through a friend. We had common music interest and he was starting to build a studio in his house. We collaborated on the project and started writing and recordingand through lots of trial and error got some songs out of it. Tuch (our bass player) had been on the road with various bands as a tech. He would come around on his time off and lay down tracks. Finally he said fuck itI want to be in a band, so he stayed home and we started gigging and recording. Then our drummer had to split because of family obligations and we have Troy on drums now. The line has been solid for some time.
Rob: What are some of the bands that you guys listen to or you would say that influence your sounds?
Joe: Everyoneold and newthere are so many.
Rob: What are some of the bands that you guys like that are maybe in the stoner rock, or just rock in general genre right now?
Joe: I dig Clutch, Grand Magus, Atomic Bitchwax, Orange Goblin, Cowboys and Aliens, Nebula, there are many morethere are so many great bands.
Rob: How often do you guys rehearse and how does the songwriting process go down?
Joe: We rehearse about 3or4 nights a week. If we have gigs we write out a set and rehearse it. If not, we start riffing around and sort of free form until we get some arrangements down. As far as lyrics, Im the only writer at this pointbut Im not opposed to someone else bring in some words.
Rob: Do you have any recording plans to follow up your recent release American Burnout?
Joe: We may do an EP between this record and our nextwe have a lot of material and we dont want to just sit on it. Well see what our label says.
Rob: Do you plan on doing any touring in the future in support of your recent release?
Joe: Yes, We want to play as much as possible. We are looking at possibly going to Europe in the coming monthsno definite dates yetand we would like to set up something for the US. We would like to go out as a support for a bigger band.
Rob: I hear COC influences in your band...is this coincidence or do you guys hear that too?
Joe: We get the comparison a lot. I think our influences are very similar but I do like COC. Pepper and I are both from Louisiana, so maybe thats it.
Rob: How did the deal with Buzzville come around?
Joe: I like Cowboys and Aliens and was checking out their website. When we were looking for a label I contacted Buzzville. They liked what we were doing, so we hammered out an agreement. They are really cool at BuzzvilleGonzales are with them alsoI really like those guys too.
Rob: Do you guys use the Internet to promote your band? Or entertainment other than porn?
Joe: We try. Sites like Stoner Rock are a great place to promote and touch base with all kinds of peopleother bands and folks who just dig good music. But I look at a lot of porn too.
Rob: There is no band on the planet that can top _______!
Joe: I cant pick just onesorry.
Rob: What is your local scene like? What are some of the venues and bands that you guys like?
