Caravan Beyond Redemption is an excellent example of a completely original band. No one sounds like Cathedral. Their doomy yet catchy riffs, psychedelic lyrics and overall feel are matched by no other. Every piece on this album gives the impression that a lot of work has been put into the little details of each song, making them unique. If you're a Cathedral fan, you definitely won't be disappointed. If you're new to the band, it's a great album to start at. An excellent album, highly recommended.

Cathedral have evolved from the slow, deathy doom band into the more rocking and grooving outfit. Caravan... mixes doom ala Black Sabbath with 70s rock and even disco groove. But this is also something else. Sometimes a very weird trip down a sonic path, Caravan... takes your mind somewhere far away. Sound on this album is absolutely heavy. Playing is tight. I love em and the whole sound the band creates.
