Accolades for Self Titled
The Hitch fit perfectly alongside the up and coming new guard of high calibre heavy-on-the-groove rock bands like Greatdayforup, Devil to Pay and On a Pale Horse. They're totally obscure and they totally rule! If you're not familiar with the bands mentioned so far then you definitely oughtta check 'em out, along with The Hitch! For more well-known references think Fu Manchu meets Alabama Thunderpussy meets Clutch.
Imagine Clutch went backwoods or the "Deliverance" soundtrack gone hardcore and you wouldn't be far off the mark when it comes to The Hitch's bludgeoning offensive.
Fans of the amphetamine punk boogie of Lamont and the slithery guitar tones of Raging Slab are going to love this. This is pure, raw Humbolt County rock and roll, and their live show must be a full-on hell raising bender of cathartic proportions. The songs stretch out and breathe in the moment but never lose their feel or momentum. Every player adds just the right amount of buzz to this stew, kind of like how The Rubes can space out while never downplaying their song craft. This slab is the perfect party to have stuck in your player on repeat. Keep away from Velcro Lewis and His 100 Proof Band, Artimus Pyledriver, or Lamont as a highly volatile reaction is probable and may result in waking up in jail.
