Homo Erectus follows the same path as their self titled album drawing on influences like Blue Cheer, Jimi Hendrix, and Cream, as well as incorporating a classic rhythm and blues sound to this release. Its a classic retro tone, with lots of psychedelic noodling and a loose song structure that gives the tracks ample breathing room. Its also got a very live feel, as if the whole record was recorded at some smokey club. Orange Sunshine deliver classic, timeless rock, simple and pure. As with the self titled, pick this one up if youre a fan of the above mentioned bands, Masters of Reality, or The Atomic Bitchwax.

Its nearly impossible to believe that these 6 slices (+2 bonus cuts) of over-the-top spectacular, and ultra-powerful, Blue Cheer-influenced psychedelic motor-blues-rock on this here new Orange Sunshine release werent recorded some 35 years ago. Homo Erectus is guaranteed to stun all fans of heavy guitar rock in the vein of Blue Cheer and Savage Resurrection. Connoisseurs need to know no more!
