Accolades for The Suffering
This is the new band led by Dave Gryder (the guy that brought you Covenant a few years back on Syn-Phonic). Unlike Covenant, this is a real band that features Hammond organ, bass, guitar (done by Ernie Myers of Hands), vocals, and drums. It is more in the hard rock vein with very definite progressive tendencies. Imagine the heaviest Deep Purple crossed with Relayer-era Yes. There you have it, a totally ass-kicking album that will melt your speakers. Very highly recommended!
"The Suffering," our second album, picks up where our debut release "Garden of Forgotten Ideals" left off. As to be expected, there's plenty of down and dirty riffage with heavy guitar/organ interplay.
This is some heavy prog rock stuff full of Hammond Keys and lots of tricky little fills, really reminds me of King Crimson's Court of the Crimson King... One of the bands that came to mind right off of the bat from of late is The Mystic Krewe of Clearlight, that same kind of idea, but this is more classic rock sounding with a ton of blazing guitar leads and vocals. I guess this stuff sounds more like early Yes too.
