Accolades for Self Titled
Baltimores Vincent Black Shadow seems intent on ignoring anything past 1979. Their self-titled debut is ten songs of Stooges-like rock and Blue Cheer-like heavy, and it sounds like a long-lost relic from a couple of decades ago. First off, the production is warm and tastefully low-fi. Secondly, the songs themselves are pretty fucking righteous. The mixture of Iggy Pop and heavy fuzz make for some solid psychedelic garage rock. At times, its thick and grooving enough to earn a nod from the Pentagram doom camp, but overall, its a Motor City freakout.
The debut album from Baltimore heavy psych assault squad Vincent Black Shadow. A stoned-out and grinding mix of Sabbathian thunder, swirling psychedelics, and grit-fueled, energetic vocals. For fans of Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Boris, Monster Magnet, Hawkwind and Bongwater.
