Kyuss Who? Kyuss is a band that's hard to pigeon hole into one musical category. They're heavy. They're fast. They're slow. They've got the coolest fuzzed out guitar sound. They're a little bit of a lot of things.

The best description I've heard of Kyuss is:

While showing strong heavy metal roots, Kyuss lacks the screaming lead guitars that are standard equipment for most metal acts. The band sounds incredibly calm and humble in sharp contrast to bands who place more importance on a tough-guy image than making quality music.

Music is hard to describe with prose though. It's just Kyuss. Listen and you'll understand. Decide if you like them for yourself by listening to the audio samples under the links for each of the albums.

Unfortunately, Kyuss as a band is no longer with us

Kyuss broke up sometime back in October 1995 and despite numerous rumors of them reforming with different members, the sad fact is that they are no longer with us.

If you are in Europe, try out this German mirror of the Kyuss web site. It is probably much faster to access than this one that is oh so far away on the West Coast of the USA.
