Accolades for Delusion on Fire
Kylesa bring to mind Nuclear Assault and Mastodon, among others. Its direct yet technically savvy, and aggressive as all hell. Sure, there are the genres hallmarks of thrashy guitars, gang vocals, and pummeling drums, but in the end, its the difference between knowing how to fight and just flailing away.
This music is magic...its hard, but also really emotional and full of intense feelings. The guitars are fucking fat and the rhythm section is like a bulldozer rolling over your head. I also dig the vocals because there are three of them. You can hear that they live their music. Sorry, I cant name you a single band which sounds even a bit like Kylesa.
In my book, Kylesa can do very little wrong. They play screamy and heavy music devoid of the testosterone overload that is commonly found in the underground. This release rules.
