Sure, Dwarves do their best to enrage. From the no-way-in-hell-it�ll-be-in-Wal-Mart cover art full of naked girls and the now-standard groupie voice mail to slams at Queens of the Stone Age to a slew of references to violence and drugs, Dwarves do their best to get somebody, anybody at least a bit peeved, if not totally pissed off. This late in the game, however, the only ones tuning into the band are either amazingly tolerant, frighteningly morally bankrupt or, most likely, just looking for some tongue-in-cheek rock�n�roll abandon. For anyone who falls into one of those categories, this is a pretty fun listen. The album opens with a mix of surf guitars and tweaker rock in the vein of Butthole Surfers. the stage is set for The Dwarves to pursue their idiosyncratic ends. It reclaims heavy industrial rock from the computer nerds with a tribute to animal appetites.

Dwarves are a hard hitting non-stop rock/pop machine. Featuring one of the best cover images around, The Dwarves Must Die is one hot and nasty little album. Those who are easily-offended or who lack a sense of humor should avoid this band. While shock rock has become somewhat tedious and boring over time, The Dwarves manage to inject about as much shock as an upbeat rock band can inject...while still providing some damn fine songs in the process. We can even forgive these guys for injecting some of their tunes with the dreaded shit-hop-slop...mainly because they seem to be mocking it rather than trying to utilize it as a credible style. These guys are smart...as is evidenced in their lyrics. The majority of the lyrics are laugh-out-loud funny...yet they are delivered with true sincerity. When these guys sing I wanna fuck, eat, and fuck you up...it sure sounds like they mean it. Harsh, funny, raw, and irreverent...and highly entertaining.
