Realm of Darkness by James Hirsch First of all, this is hands down the best album that I have heard this year! These guys have a gift for their instruments and they know how to play them. On their newest release "The Last Adventures of Captain Dog" They show a tremondous amout of talent with some great guitar work, a voice that won't quit, and drums that blast through your ears like a bullet crashing through your skull. These guys have a distictive sound that makes your skin crawl with excitement and spread the word to everybody about this album. There is not a bad track on this album which is hard to come by nowadays. They have a sound that is pure and strong. There are some heavy tracks and some soft tracks. The songs that realy caught my attention were, "10,000 Reasons", "Thundergroove", "Damned if I should Care", and "When I'm Finally Gone". I hear quite a few different styles on this album, there are a few doom riffs that are excellent, a quality supply of acoustic interlays, and some awesome rock 'n' roll pick ups. I hear some Black Sabbath in the song "Feels Like My Mind", and for some odd reason Drivin' and Cryin' in songs like "Thundergroove" and "Wish I knew Which Side I'm On". I love this album and I recommend this purchase to everyone that loves great metal with a few twists. << Back to reviews of The Last Adventures of Captain Dog
