One look at the Phoenix gracing the cover and you just know this album�s gonna soar. All of Dave�s art finds one delving into the imagination but this is really ethereal. The tunes are an amalgamation of all things Cathedral as its up-tempo while still preserving out and out dirge. But, the band really finds themselves reviving their love for 70�s rock with the use of Doors/Steppenwolf like keyboard passages with an acoustic guitar thrown in on my personal favorite �Aphrodite�s Winter�. Then you have the strange Celtic Frost like �Congregation Of Sorcers�, complete with Warrior like death grunts (�Ooooh..Hey��can you say �Circle Of The Tyrants�). The hook factor of some of Gaz�s guitar work is implausible, something I thought �Endtyme� lacked. It�s as if he had all of these amazing riffs lying around since �Supernatural� and finally decided to bust them out and his lead guitar work runs neck and neck Iommism�s of Wino. Perhaps the best Cathedral to date? File between �Sabbatoge� and �Heaven And Hell�.
