Accolades for C-Earth
This CD is an interesting combination of dirge-like drones that remind me of the American sludge bands like Fistula or Molehill without the southern tinge, but still retains a recognizable British Doom feel to it. C-Earth sounds like a cross between Electric Wizard and Weedeater.
Gone are the more stoner moments that are featured on Sally's self-titled debut CD. Instead this is a record that fully reflects the Sally experience. At times grim and droning, others angry and aggressive. File C-Earth next to your Melvins and Discharge.
This is the second album from Birminghams favorite stoner band named after Sally Hardesty. C-Earth is heavy sludge with a thick guitar sound. The music is extremely raw and has some touches of Electric Wizard. And to show us that song titles are not that important they give every song a Japanese title. For those who love to have headaches!
