Here is this weeks Bandcamp recommendations. We got some garage rock inspired music this week. We`ve got one from Sweden, two from New York, Vatican City and France. Remember, all these albums are available for free and some are a "Name your price" model. Remember to support the artists and slip them a few dollars if you like them or support them in another way (buying shirts, concert tickets, etc). Here`s some pretty cool hard/garage rock with some punk elements. The band is from Sweden. They are a four piece band called Gravel Guts. Recorded live in the rehearsal studio in may 2009. Gravel Guts Bandcamp These guys are from Brooklynn, New York. They play a bossa nova, garage type rock. Really weird but cool stuff. This their 6 track 2009 EP. Shark? Bandcamp Nothing Project is a one man band from New York. It`s a fuzzed out garage rock album that I would compare to Queens of the Stone Age. Very cool sounding album. The album is a 12 track free download however you can support him and buy a physical disc. <>No drum machines and no band matesthe Nothing Project delivers rock n` roll from every extremity of one man. This is not a studio creation but is, in fact, a true one man rock band. Marcus, Nothing Project`s front man (and back man) delivers the rock live as well as in the studio. The pulsing bass drum, snare, and high hat are always at his feet while his guitar bridges the gap between rhythm and vocal. Nothing Project is meant to be seen as well as heard. Marcus spent many years in a four-piece band but he only spent four months sweating, writing and practicing as a one man rock machine before performing his first show in June, 2006. Since then he has been opening eyes and ears in venues throughout New York and New Jersey. Nothing Project has not been contained by the stage alone, with two live performances on 92.3 FM in New York City. Nothing Project Bandcamp These clowns are the real deal. We`re not talking about no phony impostors like ICP. These guys hail from the Vatican City and play an indie/punk/ska/garage rock. <>The Clowns is a band consisting of two failed clowns and a disillusioned pantomime! Their music is categorized as: "Guitar-driven Garage-Soul" It sounds like Rock and Soul are performing a 69 on a psychedelic rug on the floor of a Garage - and Blues is watching and jerking off to it, wearing mirrored glasses and a leather jacket ... It`s beautiful and ugly at the same time. The Clowns are a multinational group that met in Switzerland and lives in Zrich. Eugene Bakarow was born in the Ukraine, Dino Castelli was born in Luxemburg and Frederick Obando was born in Reykjavk, Iceland. This is their first E.P. and is indeed "Not Funny ... But Hot". The Clowns Bandcamp The last is a pretty damn cool stone rock band from France. They play some dirty and heavy stoner. The download is a 5 track EP released this last May. Steamrollers Bandcamp
