Samavayo feature a full range guitar tone with a nice variety of spacey effects here and there, as well as nice round sounding bottom end of fuzzy, watery bass. They use their highly competent instrumental capability to push forth a pretty enjoyable hard rock sound. Not slacking at all in the melodic area, the band does a great job song writing. Lead vocalist Behrang Alavi comes off at times like a cross between the Kyuss heavyweights John Garcia and Josh Homme, but with a flat Scott Hill of Fu Manchu-like quality in his vocal tone. You can also hear extra attention paid to enunciation due to his German take on English. It makes for an interesting and quite listenable vocal quality.
