I love every record the Melvins have made. The Maggot quickly became one of my favorites. The whole thing just kicks ass front to back.

This is a comeback album for those that miss the days of Bullhead and Houdini. If you love the Melvins` heaviness, but could care less about their obnoxious side, this is an essential album.

By just the first few tones of the album I decided to lock myself up and just experience The Maggot. The sound of the album, especially the drums which are recorded very much in the red, is very heavy. And when the last song is getting to the climax, you go berserk! Bloody, bloody brilliant!!!
