Accolades for Self Titled
Sure, The Abominable Iron Sloth wears a suit of murky, thick sludge, but thats really just a cover for its black, hardcore heart. Most sludge songs trudge on past the six-minute mark, building slowly to a hateful crescendo. The Abominable Iron Sloth makes its point in significantly less time and yet with the same grinding intensity. And rather than play just a wall of riffs, there are some fairly intricate, occasionally melodic guitar parts that add extra color. This makes for an awesome album that brings something new to the sludge table. The Abominable Iron Sloth has a very developed sound that makes their crazed bloodlust all the more dangerous.
Aggressive, angry sludge, streamlined through a hardcore sensibility. Awe-inspiring stuff.
