The bassist, drummer and one of the guitarists from Mood grabbed themselves a new singer and pumped out an album full of great doom-rock goodness. If Wall of Sleep took Mood's sound and added a dash more Doom to the mix, then Stereochrist has taken Mood and added a sprinkle of metal and a touch of rock. Still in the same ballpark as those two, but a little more upbeat and a tad more crunchy. This album is chock full of greasy riffs and subtle melodies. So if you like Mood, Wall of Sleep, Down, Wiseblood-era COC and others of that ilk, then Stereochrist is a band you need to check out.
