Accolades for Self Titled
Progressive 70s style boogie rock in all its outrageousness is what Id have to call this self titled effort from Drunk Horse. In its own reich this album is a masterful piece of work. The songs are very well crafted and each one has its own unique epic rock n roll opera qualities. If it were the 1970s right now I would venture so far as to say that Drunk Horse would have a good chance of making it to the top of the charts with their classic songs like Tempermental Woman and High Score.
Engine resonating across the deserted intersection, the Georgia Satellites sidled up next to The Tubes, with the Butthole Surfers defiling Ted Nugent in the trunk. What happened at that traffic light was a mess, but memorable and satisfying. "Greazy Moustache" was bad enough to be blasting, with its epic intro, and disturbingly mesmerizing guitar hook. Skynrd mustve dropped it right out of the back of that plane, because it got all convoluted from the middle to the endand the same mustve went for "Tempermental Woman". Shit, by the time the brilliant "Ass Out/Passed Out" caught everyone up in it like an elongated Scissorfight anthem, the cops were well on their way to god knows what kind of blackmail snapshot. The rest is a fucking blur.
