With Vision is the second album from Place of Skulls and the first with the powerful 2-guitarist combination of Wino (Saint Vitus, The Obsessed. Spirit Caravan) and Victor Griffin (Pentagram). Incredible vocal and lead guitar trade-offs from both. Vocally, Victor sounds more confident and Wino seems to sound more ominous and dark. With Vision blends the best qualities of each member to create something very new and extremely heavy.

The music is classic sounding doom - psychedelic and hard. It differs from Pentagram (which Victor Griffin plays guitar for) in that it's more laid back, steady head banging tunes. Very, very similar to Spirit Caravan but different- you would have to hear it to see the differences.

If you are into Spirit Caravan, Pentagram, The Obsessed- and you haven't heard Place of Skulls, do yourself a favor and get it for the sake of groove doom rock. Some of the best yet.

I definitely see the Spirit Caravan influence, but Place of Skulls is more melodic, sometimes a little heavier. My first couple of listens have absolutely sold me to their sound - a soulful funeral dirge. I hear a little of Abdullah in there as well.
