It sounds like these guys have been playing together for ages and not the short time they have been. They are nice and tight on this album, but without a saftey net they are a bit more experimental than they are on the studio produced versions released on CD. This seems to add a new dimension to the sound that allows the raw energy of the band to really come out - not to mention a few nice guitar solos.

This is a great album! The only critisism I have is that there is not more of it.... in total it is only 26 or 27 mins in length (this could have been all that was recorded at Gutter Island I suppose). It is sad to think however of the extra tracks that could have been included to make this a full length LP. All in all I think this is a classic album and I am eternally grateful to get my hands on one of the only 600 for sale!
