Accolades for Rebirth of the Heavy Vol. 2
Like its predecessor, its a testament to the loud that the masses cant seem to hear. And like the first Rebirth of the Heavy, its a collection of both unreleased and previously released tracks. For the previously released music, you get quality tracks like Greenleaf, El Buzzard, Bad Wizard, Solace, Dirty Rig and Orange Goblin. As for the other previously released tracks, theyre varied enough in style to offer something for everyone. But what makes a compilation worth purchasing are the unreleased tracks, and while the majority of songs exist elsewhere, new material from Smoke, Volume, 18 Speed Tranny, Abdullah, and Ironboss are more than enough to sweeten the deal. In the end, Rebirth of the Heavy Vol. 2 is like getting a kick-ass mix from a stranger who just managed to figure out what you already dig and what you probably will. As with the first installment, this compilation provides a solid introduction to the essentials, as well as opening up new directions to pursue the heavy.
