Accolades for TunnelVision Brilliance
The solo debut from the underground legend, Scott Reeder, a former bassist for Kyuss, The Obsessed, Nebula and Unida.
TunnelVision Brilliances thirteen songs are genre less, classifiable simply as "music" and nothing more. Its not a heavy album. Thanks to Scott's singing style, theres a David Gilmour/Pink Floyd vibe to some of the songs. How he can make such contrasting styles blend together as a whole is impressive enough; whats even better is that these songs were written over an 18-year stretch (as for musicianship, Reeder plays all the instruments flawlessly). If you listen to TunnelVision Brilliance and cry that its not a wall of distortion, youre missing the point. The album is a deeply personal reflection of Scott Reeder, and it shows an incredible depth.
The songs sound a touch retro, yet they also sound very fresh. I think if one can get over the "but it's not heavy" thing, one will be pleasantly surprised.
