Abdullah is part of Roadburn's 2001 Retrospective.
"It's been a pretty good year for us. After a few false starts, we finally got the live thing going after being
a 2-piece for so long. We've even had the pleasure of playing with some really great bands in the course of this
year.... Spirit Caravan, Electric Wizard, Penance, Place of Skulls, Warhorse, ATP, Internal Void, Bottom, etc.
It's been alot of fun. We've spent the last few months really buckling down and developing our new material.
We currently have about 6 songs "in the bag" and a slew of other ideas to work through. I think alot of people
are going to be surprised with the new stuff. I'm hoping to see a new release by mid-2002. Can't wait to see
what next year brings for us."

New interview from Eternity Magazine (also available in German).
Abdullah is part of Roadburn's 2000 Retrospective:
"The dawning of the new millennium has been an incredible time for
us!", says Abdullah's Jeff. " I thought we'd be celebrating the end of
existence but instead the year 2000 saw two Abdullah releases see the
light of day. Our 1999 demo "Snake Lore" was put out by England's Rage
of Achilles and we had our "official" studio-recorded self titled
debut released by MeteorCity. Even though we're oftentimes depressed
bastards, we still preferred the latter over death. We're no closer to
completing our line-up than we were 2 years ago, but maybe we can
jump that hurdle in 2001. We really want to get this thing geared up
for the road and finally have the opportunity to play some live shows.
It's been a great year, I' ve met a ton of cool people and I can't
wait to see what 2001 brings (an Abdullah/Slow Horse world tour? Stay
tuned).

From Roadburn News for November 22,2000:
ABDULLAH'S FULL LENGTH IS OUT
Abdullah's long awaited full length is finally due
out on MeteorCity. "The
CD's been out here in the states for about a
week now", says drummer/singer Jeff, "and so
far the response has been very good!" I'm even
receiving reports that it's been in heavy rotation
on college airwaves across the US. That may not
sound like much in the bigger scheme of things,
but it's much more than I ever expected and
couldn't be happier. We've also received some pretty cool reviews on
sites like Zoopa Loop, Stonerrock.com and Daredevil, and I'm hoping that
there will be more to come. We're now entering the languid winter
months and may I suggest the new Abdullah CD as the perfect
accompanying soundtrack to the winter's gloom?"
"We recorded the CD at Suma Sound Recording in Painesville, Ohio this
past summer after about a year's worth of writing and planning, and I
have to say that it was one of the most exciting times of my life. We had
the chance to work with an excellent engineer/producer in Paul Hamann
(who's done work in the past with Grand Funk Railroad, Bloodrock, James
Gang and more recently with Boulder) and I can't describe how cool it
was laying down our songs in such a relaxed and laid-back environment.
We were a little pressed for time, but I'm still very pleased with the way
things turned out."
"At this point in time we are still less a permanent drummer and bassist
(Jamie from Boulder provided most of the bass tracks on the CD), so we're
concentrating very hard on filling these positions. I can't wait to start
playing live and share the stage with bands like Tummler, Slow Horse,
Solace, and Penance. I'm also giving thought to producing a video for
"The Black Ones." I realize it'll probably never make it to the airwaves,
but who the hell cares? It's something I always wanted to do!"
Reviews of the new album from Critical Metal, The Crass Menagerie,
and Dark Wave.
