Zebulons strength lies in hook-laden hard rock, the kind of anthemic numbers that are tailor made for arenas, flash pots, and extravagant lighting. Their sound is, in a word, big. Zebulon straddle the line between grandiose and over-the-top. It's easy to recommend Troubled Ground to fans of either The Hellacopters or Turbonegro.

The album is filled to the brim with a stoner/space rock sound, which incorporates clear influences of bands like Monster Magnet, Spiritual Beggars and Black Sabbath. The rugged vocals by Hakan Morberg, tight bass lines (Jojje Bohlin), energetic drums (Thomas Johnson) and compelling guitar riffs (Klas Morberg) are wrapped in 10 catchy and melodic tracks.
