HALF MAN : The Complete Field Guide For Cynics CD/LP self released 1999
Half Man comes from Sweden and the band doesn't own the typical Swedish sound
of bands like Entombed or Transport League, a sound that identifies most of
the stoner groups from this country. They don't have a "modern" sound, in spite
of that they are a retro rock band.
They focus on summoning as slavish the music's of the 60's and 70's. It all
mean, that Half Man doesn't show up anything new, original on this album, in
spite of that we hear entertaining, well written songs, sometimes with the excellent
support of a mouth-organ.
If you already own the albums of Black Crowes, Reef or Leadfoot, then search
this out. Half Man is the right solution for enjoyable retro-rock.
