It�s easy as hell for a band to say �Chaw, dude! We�re into rawk!� & then cop
a half-assed Aerosmith riff. Do that & you�re pretty much guaranteed to either
be eating beans out of a can or riding in a limo within weeks.
But, somewhere in the middle, there�s room for real music & the handful of bands
who really know the vibe. Being from Sweden helps and being really good completes
the trick for GREENLEAF. I mean, sheezus, listen to the last part of �Witchcraft Tonight!�
I�m sitting there thinking, �Man, I haven�t heard something like that since Foghat�s
�Rock & Roll� album.� That kind of spirit continues to grow with the likes of �Never Right,�
�The Spectre� & �Black Black Magic.� Things darker & Morrison-like also unfold their
black wings in other places & yet GREENLEAF never waver from something that just
flat-out rocks. Psychy yet bike-y & full of total �cool,� this totally blasts anything
by guitarist Tommi Holappa�s other band, Dozer, and could be a soundtrack for a course
called �Rawk 101�! Stone cold great CD, daddycakes, I�ll be spinnin� this on & on!
