The beauty of 5ive is that Ben Carr, guitarist, and Charlie Harrold, drummer, can create music thats both minimalist and in-depth. When the two lock together, they play as one. Kid606, a one-man band, veers toward industrial techno ambience. Its very moody in structure. But curiously enough, both sides connect, as 5ive and Kid606 share a dedication to audio journeys through layered, intense music. One may be played and the other programmed, but theyre still two sides of the same coin.
