El Caco are the hottest candidates for the stoner rock throne. After Kyuss, this is the best album to emerge from the stoner scene. El Caco ("the thief") rock like hell and make a noise like there�ll be no tomorrow. But unlike most other stoner bands, El Caco�s sound is not so forced and unnatural. They have catchy first-class melodies and many interesting ideas I haven�t heard since the demise of Kyuss.

Imagine, if you please, three Norwegians who borrow the warped death skull imagery of Mexican subculture, sound distinctly American � from Seattle, mostly�-and have just released a debut, Viva, that could give Soundgarden's Ultramega OK or even Iron Maiden a run for their money.
