Accolades for Brotherhood of Electric
Heavy on the mellotron, synths and guitar, with some very timely and well-arranged string arrangements to boot, Brotherhood of Electric proves itself to be one of the most exciting records to be released so far this year.
1999's Brotherhood of Electric ups the ante a bit soundwise. McBain's songwriting is still improving (if you can believe this) and Cameron's voice fits the mood of the recording perfectly. The inclusion of Josh Homme on 2 or three vocal tracks is interesting, though his voice has a similar tonal quality to Cameron's. Homme plays bass on certain tracks as well.
