Reaching way out past the well worn stoner rock blueprint to pastures far far more stimulating and rewarding, Swedens The Awesome Machine are suddenly immense. Three albums in and theyre now right up there with the very best. Theyve got some of the classic old school qualities of those early 90s Candlemass times; theyre massively powerful and suddenly very special. The perfectly named band does not sound like anyone else, theyre just plugged in to the source in a way the REAL classic stoner doom bands of past times have been Candlemass, St.Vitus - and take it somewhere the others dont.

The Awesome Machine mix their doom with a dark edge psychedelic swirl, a flavored medieval trance state and this spellbinding guitar sound thats all of their own. The Awesome Machine pace everything just so perfectly and when they do hook in to more obvious territory it still sounds massive in a very rewarding Soundgarden/Kyuss/Queens kind of way. The real treasures are when they really get out there and reach the places none of the others go. The Awesome Machine are not just another stoner rock band, theyre a uniquely massive band and this is highly recommended. One of the albums of the year.

This is a journey through the human mind, sometimes pleasant, sometimes malicious. Please listen carefully, you don't want to miss these twelve statements made by Sweden's THE AWESOME MACHINE. Join the ride through the landscapes of hard rock, metal, and psych. Crank it up!!
