These guys FUCKING RULE!!! This is definitely one of the coolest CDs that`s ever come across my desk!!! I fell in love with this band IMMEDIATELY upon first listen and then listened to this CD a dozen more times in succession. Somehow they bring the hardcore doom of Electric Wizard together with the electrified energy of Big Elf. Totally kick ass!!!

Planet Gemini is a duo recording project that is in it for the music not the money, and their album SuperGod DevilMan is living proof. Although it's Sabbath influenced doom stuff that isn`t anything too out of the normal, what is different is that these two guys do it all in the studio, and do it with soul and passion. They serve up a plate of classic doom rock that goes above and beyond the call of duty. This stuff reminds me of everything from Sabbath, Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus and Eternal Elysium. The guitars are thick and tuned down low and the songs are written with expert precision. Great melodies and doubled up in parts to give a bit of depth. The whole album has sort of a story feel to it. Very dark songs, great guitar leads and great songwriting all the way through it. I really dig the slow driving beats; just laying down a super heavy path. It is almost like I could envision a bulldozer pushing dead bodies into an excavated ditch after a brutal war...that`s the Gemini sound.

It's hard to believe that all of this music is made by a mere two people, but there it is. The music to all of this is a heartfelt blend of Sabbath (the first four, natch) and Trouble, heavy on the Sabbath. Given the fact that so many bands have made music with these two icons as their main influences, it's remarkable that Planet Gemini can produce all this music and keep it fresh and original. But they do it, in spades. This is aggressive old school riffing doom made with passion. Check these guys out if youre into raw, Sabbathy doom made by a group who truly cares about every stage of their musics development.
