On Trial & Nebula
Live @ Sticky Fingers
Gothenburg, Sweden

We got there just in time... 15 minutes after we arrived On Trial entered the stage, from what I was told after the gig they were supposed to take the stage as early as half past 8... but they managed to delay it `til a few minutes after 9... I guess there has been complaints from the neighbours again, since the gig started this early. I guess lotsa people missed On Trial (and some might even have missed Nebula)... too bad `cause On Trial rocked.
It was evident that most people in the audience were there to see Nebula... since most people didnt seem to take notice when On Trial kickstarted their set with "Downer". But as their set progressed more and more people stood in front of the stage... and I think On Trial got at least a few new fans.

As you can see from the On Trial setlist (incl. below), they played mostly their harder stuff... And one or two of the songs were new ones from their upcoming album thatll be released on Delerium Records this fall. Anyways, it was a great set and I hope that as many European stoners as possible visited the gigs on this European tour... (the tour will probably be over when you read this).

Nebula entered the stage about ten oclock... it was full speed on the get go with "Giant" followed by one of my favorite Neb tunes... "Down The Highway". Its an incredible energy burst coming outta the PA speakers, and all this with just guitar, bass and drums... some powertrios sound a little thin live... Not Nebula!!! I heard that they had another guitarist onboard for the latest U.S. Tour, but its not like they need too. Not with that rhythm section, Ruben beatin the shit outta drums with impeccable rhythm and fills and Mark slappin that bass like crazy and still managing to look like he just toked on the fattest joint you ever seen. And to top it off, Eddie workin his magic on the six string... switchin from rhythm to solo like there was nothin to it, even though its full throttle on the tune...

Nebulas set had a perfect mixture of new and old tunes... and they played a lot of my favorite tunes, like "Vulcan Bomber", "Let It Burn" and as the last song out my ultimate favorite Neb tune... "Full Throttle"... And they promised to be back in August, Im already looking forward to it... I got to hang with both bands backstage afterwards, a great bunch of guys... and I finally met Mark from Marksound (he was onboard as the tour manager). And I did the nerdy fan kinda thing and got all my On Trial and Nebula vinyls signed, since I had a complete collection of both bands vinyl releases (7", 10" and 12") with me they had to write a lot of autographs... Thanks guys, se ya next time!!!
